Our latest updatesIT Outsourcing: Luxury or Necessity?
Many companies—especially those that deal with Information Technology at the center of their business—already know the answer to this question: IT outsourcing increasingly leans more toward necessity than luxury.
Sometimes, this is the only way to make the entire company fully support data management without overburdening the budget with countless individual hires—since specialized professionals are much more expensive.
Companies that need support but aren’t in the tech sector may even consider it a luxury, but the reality is that IT outsourcing is extremely necessary for the business to thrive and present good growth indicators.
A store, for example, may not have an IT team present every day to handle data management… but if the brand wants to expand to the online environment—or simply increase profit potential in the “real world”—it becomes mandatory to think about IT outsourcing as a way to optimize investments and get the expected results.
Having IT outsourcing that acts as an extension of the company is so common—and so important—that even the market already feels its effects. A study published by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) shows that companies that invest in IT outsourcing are worth more. One reason is that, with an external partner executing the service, internal employees can focus more on strategic tasks, increasing the potential for high-quality delivery in products and services.
In light of that, is it really worth postponing your organization’s IT outsourcing for a while longer?
IT outsourcing in the “staff on demand” model
One of the most common ways to outsource IT today is the “staff on demand” method. In this model, you not only contract cloud space so external servers store your information, but you also contract qualified people to monitor the service without employment ties.
Here’s how it works: if you need a professional X, with skills Y and Z, instead of searching for freelancers (and taking the risk of finding a not-so-good one), the company hires a business focused on IT outsourcing that—through a defined CNPJ agreement and a well-defined SLA (Service Level Agreement)—will provide that professional to the client in a remote work regime.
If what the company needs is an entire IT team, no problem: it’s possible to hire as many outsourced professionals as needed so every base is covered. Clients can request qualified labor for several months or for a quick project, without dealing with payroll charges and with the certainty that the IT outsourcing company will honor the agreed terms.
Why does this model work? Simple: whether you hire a permanent employee or a freelancer you don’t know, you need to train that person and adapt them to the company’s reality, with the risk that they leave your company—or stop delivering as a freelancer—forcing you to train the next professional. That, of course, is a waste of time and money.
With IT outsourcing through a serious and committed partner, only one initial training is needed so the provider understands the company’s details and is responsible for training the team to meet your demands.
This way, it becomes easier to always have a qualified professional available, whether they work at the IT outsourcing company for one month or five years.
On top of that, in the staff-on-demand modality, you have the chance to work with highly qualified professionals at competitive rates compared to those who pursue formal employment.
